I started a few, back in the 1.3 days, but I never finished it and ran out ouf time. The new editor for source is totally different and looks to have a steep learning curve. Do you have any playable? I do have a 1.6 server as well as a CS_Source.

ps. Just got a new dedicated server to host my 64 player Battlefield2 on. :)

Have latest CS but it does not come with the new map editor so I will have to wait untill I buy the complete halflife 2 game. Shame I did enjoy building them and yes I have some (very simple maps but no way-points defined)... Never seem to get enough time these days.

Use worldcraft and hammer but not latest as you can't buy it standalone :(

I thought it was free. If you had steam installed, you should be able to dl the Source_sdk. Gotta warn you though, I think it was 100+mb in size. On your dialup, that could tie up your phone lines for days :) You gotta get High speed internet so you can play on my servers here in Seattle WA USA

I made a CS map once, a redo of assault, never did get round to finishing it :/

I tried using the source tools, got a map half done before getting annoyed with the huge memory leak in hammer.

The face poser is cool, got gman to say a line from the simpsons, all synced in about 5 mins and put into a map to walk along a path and say it. Bit harder to do the face animations and body movements though that would take a long time.

Have a million friends with broadband but when I tried to download it (some time ago) via stream got no link... :(

Think I will check to see if I can access the link.

Mike

I could be wrong... There's always a first time :)

If you bought HL2, then you have all the Source_SDK programs in your steam Games list. Without buying HL2 you get none of that. You have to download Hammer/Worldcraft for HL1 seperatly I think unless the new one can handle that aswell.

Did not buy HL2, bought CS Condition Zero!

The main advantage of the new version is the terrain generator. There may be more but that?s the main reason I wean the new version and will probably but it this week or next? :)

Do not get HL2 bronze, get silver at least so you get valves back catalog, every game they have made available on steam aswell as DOD: Source when it comes out of beta, also silver is almost the same price as bronze, buying it from a shop will mean no DOD: Source or back catalog of all their games.

So if your on 56k, you may want to get the ~4GB of .GCF files off someone else on DVD lol
